Seeing Stars
by Patricia Shepherd

Seeing stars for the week beginning May 5, 2008

New moon at 16 TAURUS on May 5 at 10.18pm AEST

TAURUS

Venus who is in your sign for the next few weeks is having a friendly celestial chat with Saturn  (time keeper) and Pluto (rejuvenation), combined with the New Moon sees your constancy and faithfulness as part of your attraction.

GEMINI

If you stick to something this week and don’t allow your love for variety and change to bring you undone you may find your endurance and patience will pay off bringing the rewards you have worked for.

CANCER

Yesterday’s New Moon in Taurus fell in your 11th house so the ground is particularly fertile around the area of friends, groups and associations. Lay down some new groundwork and watch it flower.

LEO

Your qualities of responsibility and leadership are shining through at the moment so use the opportunity to concentrate on taking those first steps in striving to achieve your goals and aspirations.

VIRGO

Your relationship with those in authority may be a bit tense at the moment as they fail to appreciate that your eye for detail does take extra time. Know the difference between mastery and perfection.

LIBRA

Relationships have taken a turn for the better this week and you feel you are finally able to relax and enjoy yourself. Don’t let this extend to the buying of luxury items that you can’t really afford.

SCORPIO

With Mars spending his last week in your solar 9th house the urge and impulse to try and convince others to your own ideas will hopefully see the end of your preaching and a return to a more rational approach.

SAGITTARIUS

If your bank balance is showing the signs of a liberal approach to finances instead of a striving for financial security then this wastefulness needs to come to an end otherwise you will feel the repercussions.

CAPRICORN

You may be looking at the negative side of things but by overcoming this hurdle you will find you are only seeing part of the picture and people are far more receptive and accepting of what you have to say.

AQUARIUS

There has been a lot of activity around the home front recently so use the added boost of the New Moon to lay down some new roots and start nurturing those family relationships that you have taken for granted.

PISCES

Our fish often become caught up in the undercurrents, pulled from side to side; over the next few weeks try to cultivate a more practical and purposeful approach that will see you more organised.

ARIES

Well hopefully you have sorted out all those family disputes and troubles, realising that just maybe they were blown out of all proportion, build your bridges and move on to more fertile ground.

NEW MOON AT 16 TAURUS on May 5 at 10.18pm AEST

On a New Moon we plant new seeds and in Taurus, an earth sign, our attention is turned to those affairs that can generate and build physical forms. To do this we make a conscious intention to leave behind those values and forms of security that have kept us tied to set patterns of behaviour, that yes, may have kept us safe but at the cost of stunting our growth. The quality of our lives is affected becoming the “same ole, same ole” syndrome.

A New Moon gives us an opportunity for change, enabling us to make a conscious pact with ourselves to broaden our choices, enabling a shift in values that can precipitate increased awareness of the quality (or lack of), of our lives and decide to do something about it.

Dane Rudhyar-An Astrological Mandala

For me this represents the Taurus New Moon quite aptly. In order to progress new methods and developments need to be implemented. This is not to say we forget the old ways but rather they become the background to which necessary change is needed and can be referred back to and perhaps utilised in a new or different manner.

In any case Rudhyar states it is a time of action needing to be taken, as tradition does not have the real answer to the problem.

Next week we have a return of the Astrological Elements.
