Sharks hold off fast finishing Jets

An under-strength Sutherland Sharks have held off a determined Hawkesbury Jets, on Saturday night at the Hawkesbury Indoor Sports Stadium, South Windsor to win 84-73 in round nine of the NSW State League competition.
The Sharks had two players absent on work commitments and one on personal leave and the line-up looked distinctly threadbare during warm-ups.

The opening quarter however took everyone by surprise, with both teams struggling to trouble the score-keepers as the Sharks struggled to a 15-4 lead at the first break.
The Jets came out of their lethargy during the second and third quarters to bring the margin back to just seven points, with one quarter to play, then got the hopes of their home fans rising even further when they closed to within three points in money-time.
